I had to post this strip with just the flat coloring done for now. I’ll do the shading a little later on Friday. Sadly, I’ve taken this as far as humanly possible right now, and I have to get up for work in less than four hours.
Still, I’m happy with how this turned out, and I can’t wait to put up #200!

It really saddened me to break those two crazy kids up. I love writing Molly and her bitchy, awful ways. I was half tempted to not break them up, but we have a story we want to tell, and their break up was on a schedule.
We all knew it couldn’t last.
I can’t believe we are two strips away from 200. I can’t wait for you guys to see what happens. I’m so excited, but terrified.

A large portion of NJ is celebrating right now because the Giants won the Super Bowl. We both come from Giant loving households, but have no real interest in football. Really, my only interest in the Super Bowl is the numbers I have in the football pool. I may have lost in the pool at my dad’s bar, but I did win the first two quarters at our friends house tonight, which was neat. (Giants 9, Pats Zero?! Incredible! – Bill) I also really enjoyed the halftime show. I didn’t care about Madonna’s new song, but it was fun to hear the older classics, plus Cee Lo. There might have been a small group of us dancing and belting out Like A Prayer.
Also, Holy Crap The Avengers Trailer!! I can’t wait for that movie. We watched the extended version when we got home and just drooled.

I love that everyone wants to read the imaginary dissertation in Wednesday’s strip. You’re all such smarties. Our friend Chris actually came up with the title. He’s a history teacher, so he was the perfect person to come up with a fancy sounding paper. Thanks Chris.
Just in case you guys didn’t know, we will be guests at Manga Next in New Jersey on February 24-26. If you are in the area, you should come see us. We’ve never been guests at a show, so we want to make sure it’s extra awesome… and we want to meet you! What’s the point of doing a webcomic if you can’t meet the cool people who read the strip.
Speaking of conventions, we will be attending the Super WildPig Show in May. Trust me when I say this show will be amazing. Our good friend Chris is running it, with the help of our other good friends, over at Comic Geek Speak. It’s right in our backyard and it’s going to be a blast. We’re hoping to debut our first book there, so another incentive to want to go. He’s taking pre-orders for the tickets now, so if you want to go, please buy now. And if you do pre-order a ticket, you’ll be put into a raffle, with one of the prizes being a sketch from our very own Bill Ellis.
Since I’m in a pimping mood, I’m gong to throw out some links to some other friends.
The lovely and talented ladies over at Namesake are raising money through Kickstarter for their first book. They’ve already raised their goal, but this is the perfect opportunity to pre-order their book. We snagged one, and so should you.

Hopefully, you are also having a moment of deja vu. If not, this is a call back from Strip #62. We thought it’d be fun to reference the first time they all went to a wrestling match.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Ours was pretty epic. We had an incredibly good time at our friends’ house, who hosted the annual Wildpig Comics/Comic Geek Speak gathering. (Jamie D and Dan, you were missed!) Lots of wacky hijinks ensued, including some Fruit Ninja Kinect and Dance Central 2. I’m still pretty exhausted from it all. We ended Sunday night at the real life Gavin’s house watching the Royal Rumble. It’s the only wrestling PPV that I enjoy watching.
It was a great weekend, and I’m sad to see it end. Mostly because it means I have to go to work in the morning.

We are closing in on 200 strips. It’s crazy.
I’m hoping towards the end of the week, I’ll get to really start banging out book 1. It’s awesome, but kind of terrifying. I get to design our book, but it also means I have to design our book.
This is the book that sets the standard for all other books. I can’t just slap together a design and hope it works. I have to really think about this, make choices that hopefully I’ll still like in 2 years.
It’s a terrifying and daunting task.
So, of course, I’m putting it off until the last possible second. Ahh, procrastination, I know thee well. (I’m not going to procrastinate until tomorrow, if I can help it. – Bill)
Wish me luck. And if anyone has any tips on Kickstarter, I’m all ears. We’re hoping to crowd source the printing costs, if possible. Also, printers, I’d love to hear about them. I have a local one in mind, but I’d love to hear about others. I’m still hammering out how many pages the book will be.

Monday, Monday.
I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Ours was pretty good. I worked on Saturday night and Bill had his Magic game. He lostt, but I think they all had fun. And Sunday ended up being a day of work for the two of us. I was doing a freelance job, and Bill worked on the strip.
All in all, not so bad of a weekend.
