I can’t believe I forgot to write a blog post last night. Well, actually I can, but I really was going to write one last night. I think I got caught up in doing all sorts of other little things around the house. We’ve slowly been organizing our house and yesterday I took a bunch of gift cards to Bed Bath and Beyond and splurged on little containers and boxes. So there was some closest organizing and some for the bathroom and cleaning up dinner. Next thing you know, it’s time for bed. There really aren’t enough hours in the day sometimes.
I wanted to mention that on Friday I went to PA to visit with some of my favorite people over at the Comic Geek Speak studios. I went with my friends Chris and Ryan and we hung out talking comics and the new Spider-Man movie. If you’d like, you can head on over and hear me blather on about my opinions on the movie. It was a lot of fun and you get to hear how much of a dork I sound like.

Awww… the cat looks so sad! He really doesn’t want his claws clipped.
I hear that can be painful though.
To be serious – here in Germany they advise to NEVER clip a cat’s claws because it is very painful for them. Instead, give them a scratching post or access to a tree – and they will do their own manicure
We have cats in our family for over 20 years now, and every single one of them took care of their own claws.
Yes painful for the owner. Jason have to wrap the cat in a towel, is the best thing to do.
Heh, the cat is outta the bag!
Pff… my cats are perfectly content with having their nails clipped. As long as you don’t cut too far in and hit the quick, there’s nothing painful about it… like cutting one’s own nails. The trick is to get them used to you touching their paws and trusting you with their paws.
Well not all cats enjoy using a scratching posts so much as your furniture and clothing, and frequently cuttin their nails is far more hunane than declawing them surgically. It is very easy to see where not to clip on their translucent nails. And not clipping them can lead to the nails curling around and puncturing the skin in overgrowth. This most likely occurs with the dewclaws, which don’t always see the benefit when scratching a post, but the problem is more prominent in dogs.
I didn’t realize people clipped cat claws. I used that type of claw clippers for my rabbits, though. Also, wth, Todd?
You visited Penny Arcade?
OMG I love sad kitty face.
Also, I’ve been trimming my cats’ claws for 15 years, only hit the quick once. They love it. If I forget and leave it too long they let me know it’s time.
